ENVIRONMENTAL FIELD TECHNICIAN

Lighthouse Energy Group is looking to hire for the role of Environmental Field Technician. Lighthouse Energy Group is a boutique environmental and engineering company that specializes in providing flexible and client focused results for oil & gas clients. With broad industry knowledge and experience, Lighthouse provides advanced insight into each project allowing us to tailor our approach and outcome.


Responsibilities:
• Executing the field components of Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase 2 ESAs, Groundwater Monitoring and Detailed Site Assessment (DSA).
• Directing heavy equipment and overseeing the field components of remediation and reclamation activities.
• Completing detailed field notes describing all on-site activities and providing all field notes and incurred expenses to the project manager on a daily basis.
• Maintaining professional contact with clients, regulators, and other third parties.
• Mentoring junior employees to develop Lighthouse’s capabilities.


Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree or diploma in an applicable discipline
• 4-7 years of experience with fieldwork for the oil and gas industry in Alberta, soil sampling, remediation, field-screening, monitoring well installations, hydraulic conductivity testing, groundwater monitoring
• Willingness to work in the field under a variety of conditions
• Possess a working knowledge of the environmental site assessment process in Alberta
• Aware of the regulatory framework of Alberta (Tier 1 and 2 guidelines)
• Ability to interpret scopes of work and problem solve in the field
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Possess clear communication skills, and concise, technical note-taking skills
• Valid, non-GDL Class 5 Driver’s License

ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT MANAGER

Lighthouse Energy Group is currently looking to hire for the role of Environmental Project Manager. Lighthouse Energy Group is a boutique environmental and engineering company that specializes in providing flexible and client focused results for oil & gas clients. With broad industry knowledge and experience, Lighthouse provides advanced insight into each project allowing us to tailor our approach and outcome.


Project manager Responsibilities:
• Compiling and interpreting files of contaminated or potentially contaminated sites in order to determine a path towards regulatory closure.
• Developing scopes of work and cost estimates for Phase 2 ESA and remediation programs.
• Managing all aspects of Phase 2 ESAs and remediation programs, including coordinating fieldwork, interpreting laboratory analysis, cost tracking, report writing or providing direction to report authors.
• Maintaining professional contact with clients, regulators, and other third parties.
• Mentoring junior employees to develop Lighthouse’s capabilities.


Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree or diploma in one of the following disciplines: science, biology, engineering or land reclamation
• 4-7 years of directly related field and office experience
• Possess strong interpersonal skills, clear communication skills, and concise, technical writing skills
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to work in the field and office
• Able to work both as a member of a team and independently
• Eligibility for registration with an Alberta professional association
• A working knowledge of the environmental site assessment process in Alberta
• A working knowledge of the regulatory framework of Alberta (Tier 1 and 2 guidelines)
• Valid, non-GDL Class 5 Driver’s License
